Our client, OneLine Engineering Inc., requires the following upgrades to the Microsoft Small Business Server infrastructure Bowes IT Solutions installed 3 years ago:
- Remote connectivity to their parent company, Eptcon Ltd in Cambridge ON
- A system that will allow OneLine and Eptcon to backup data in both directions from one location to the other for off-site storage, automatically and with no user interaction
- Improve upon the built-in Microsoft Exchange spam and phishing filter and secure the network from blended threats
To meet the needs of our client, Bowes IT will implement a network security device at each location that will:
- Provide a highly secure VPN connection between the offices
- Guard both networks from spam and phishing attacks
- Protect the networks from viruses
- Afford protocol control should the need arise
- Provide web filtering capabilities if desired in the future
- Offer Quality of Service capacity
- Block ads at the network gateway
- Allow for reporting on all device functions
In addition, we will install and configure an implementation of the rSync protocol that will enable two-way backup of data from one office to the other. rSync backs up only changes to files and is thus it uses bandwidth in the most efficient manner possible.
